.... I hate the mailman's inconsistency.

And I thought Chess was hard...

A whole week later!! Amazing, right!? haha ah this week has been absolutely insane... and honestly this is the first time I've actually been happy all week! Rough week :/ see... Quick story about my week. Monday I applied for this job cause I needed money. Tuesday I had a job interview and got accepted. Wednesday I had job training in SLC, hated it. Thursday had job training in SLC, didn't mind it, then had Taco Maker work right after. Friday I had Taco Maker, then job training... cried all the way home. I was so messed up and confused on what I was supposed to do and the whole job just felt awful. I really got sick and stressed about it! It was this marketing company and really the program was great, the product was amazing and everything about it was too good to be true. I could make thousands of dollars easy. But I didn't want to sacrifice the people I loved... to trick them into buying this stuff! I just couldn't do it. So Friday night, I quit. and today I feel incredible :)
Really who knew that two years could be so hard? SO much happens in two years! I mean I feel like a whole different person just after this week. Also lately I've been kinda down and I've figured it's because I'm really in a kinda awkward spot right now. I'm between lives!! I'm kinda away from my old and comfortable life that I'm used to with high school, living at home, hanging with my friends whenever I want... but I'm not quite into my new life with a new ward, new friends and a new home. So I'm really in this nothingness gap that is quite uncomfortable and lonely to be in! and then on top of that, my grandma isn't doing so great. She's been sick with Cancer for a bit now but this week she's just gotten worse and worse... and with all this going on... I wish I had Randy to talk to! I really wanted to call him up SO many times this week... but I couldn't. and that's probably what made me cry the most, just the fact that I'm over here hurting and I can't talk to him. It's a learning and growing experience.. so I've really been trying to see the growing part of all this. And I think what I have gotten is... that no matter how lonely I feel, how abandoned and empty... and completely loss I think I am...I have always seen my Savior there for me. Really like on my down days I'll look... somewhere in my head haha and see if I have any friends there for me.. and try to figure out why I feel so alone.. and I always have this image of my Savior there. Standing there for me... with his arms out for me. It's such an incredible comfort to know that I will never ever be alone. I will always have my Savior. and then after I see that my Savior is there for me, I see that... Randy really is there for me. He's serving... but he's there for me. and then I get humbled and see all my family and friends and ah it's incredible. Life isn't so bad :) MAIL'S HERE!!!

Mailman Stalking 101

You know how we're supposed to learn new talents and develop our skills while the Mish is gone?? Well here's one! Mailman stalking!! Ah yes. It takes immense skill of knowing just when to open your blinds to look out... or to really track down that sound of the mailman driving by.
Usually my letter coming day goes a bit like this: I wake up SUPER excited, I get all ready... and do just about anything until about 10:30 (one time I sat out and just waited for the mailman to come so I knew about when to expect him... Mailman stalking is a bit creepy. get used to it.) Then at 10:27 I sit in my room and open the blinds... I wait til I can hear the very exact sound of a Mailcar... look to see and then if it's him, I dash outside!! and.. Happiness has arrived :)
Some Saturdays, actually most Saturdays, I'm spoiled and I get my letter every time! But every once in a while we get Saturdays like today where... I think the mailman knows I'm onto him so he keeps my letters hostage -__- cruel cruel man... and when this happens... it's sad but my first thought is.... maybe... he's coming back later? Ah the mailman doesn't come back!! It's a one time show!!! But you know our silly hopes... they go all over the place! So I secretly hope that maybe he just forgot to put it in and will stop by later.. how great would that be!? He comes back and even comes to the door.. rings the door bell... angels sing... and I get my glorious letter from my boy :) Oh yes that'd be the best. Unfortunately this is reality and I think the mailman would rather keep all my letters hostage than deliver them to my door... but! I still have hopes. Usually if they don't come on Saturdays I get them Monday! So instead of today being a good day... that good day has been bypassed til Monday :) The most important lesson about this 101 lesson of Mailman stalking.. is that we ALWAYS like the mailman. Even if he is keeping our letters, laughs at our tears, and drives by waving other girls letters in our faces... we must like the postal service because it's our only source of communication to the ones we love! So stalk him. and love him. We love the Postal Service.

Just one more for today :]

Okay sooo I promise I have a life!! (actually that'd be a lie. sorry. -__-) but! Here is what I've been doing in my spare time... without Randy.... haha I thought it was funny so I just had to add it :) For memories sake. I hope the quality isn't awful like it looks right now....

Dig the scarf

Sometimes we just have to dress up cute... and then take a picture of it... and pretend that we're sending it in a text to our best friend. Just to prove that we still look cute every once in a while.

If it's important to you, you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse.

I think if I had to pick one life quote that I live by... this would be it. Because honestly it is exactly how my relationship with Randy even worked out in the first place! We cared for each other... so we made things work. Living in two different states has just proved this quote to be oh so very true. I've seen Randy more in the two years that I've known him than I've seen my own neighbors. I really don't think I would have this close of a friendship with someone who lives over 500 miles away, if it didn't mean something. Not only that but throughout our friendship, I've learned by my own actions of really how important he really is to me! I wanted to see him after I hadn't seen him for three months... so I convinced my parents to take the whole family down to Vegas for a fall vacation. I wanted to go to his play... So I contacted his Uncle who was going down and got him to let me hitch a ride in his car. Never had met the guy in my LIFE. I wanted to go to Prom with Randy... but there was no one going down like all my other trips... so... I bought a plane ticket. There really was nothing that could keep me from him!! And like all that I've done for Randy, he's done ever more than I could have even imagined for me. He has hitched rides, convinced his parents to let me stay at his house during my vacations down, he negotiated to do hours and hours of work for his parents to come up to see me... We were and are important to each other.. and so we have and always will find a way. And this is something that still works while he's on his mission! We find a way to stay in contact to each other by writing letters, studying together, sending tapes... I'm not treating it as an excuse to be free and date other guys... Do whatever I want cause he'd never know! ah no way! Today I wanted to send him a package just to let him know I was thinking of him :) Actually I wanted to send it yesterday but I got to the post office too late. Well my parents aren't home, my dad took my car, and my sister left and she's the only one that can drive stick. So I was left home with a package that I had to send... and no way to get to the post office. Well... So I rode my dads bike. It's got a flat tire, it's 90 degrees outside, and I was riding against the wind the entire time. But! It was important to me... so I found a way and I got it there :) The package isn't much, I spent only about 12 dollars, including shipping, on the whole thing. It's actually probably the saddest most lame package ever made! But.. it's for my Mish :) and I want to make sure that he knows that he means the world to me... and again! I can send my Missionary a package and ride my bike there.. but.. get a birthday present for one of my guy friends..? Str-uh-ggle! So moral of this story... If it's important to you.. you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse. oh and... moral of every story... I love my Missionary :)

Third time is the charm! ...Or how about the 24th time :P

YES! Today is Month three!!! Ah I really need to start changing my attitude about how long this is taking haha but really... I feel like it should AT LEAST be Month 6. However, I am grateful that it is the third month :) Three months down that I will never have to ever do again! THANK GOODNESS. Now I have quite a bit of things that I want to catch up on... which I'll do later I guess... cause today is all about this third month. Here's a little picture of me getting all psyched about it ^_^
Oh don't I look so excited?! ;) haha I'm really glad it's been three months... it has been a good, hard, and enriching three months! I've been lucky to have gotten letters every week, a package, a tape, and even hear from him on Mothers day.. I'm quite the lucky girl :) I really want to start making some goals though for these two years! So far I've just kinda been living life and hoping that as things go I'll change. Unfortunately I don't think life really works like that haha so tomorrow I'll hopefully post some goals for me to do just this summer, then for college... and then so on until my mish is home! I think that'll make things go a bit faster, a bit more enjoyable and I'll not be so bored all summer long ;) Three months. COMPLETE. oh and um... I LOVE MY MISH!!!! that's all. okay. bye. ;)
~Post Script: about my title, I feel like I need to explain my quite odd titles. This one came to me because.. well if third time really was the charm he'd be back haha right? so third time.. not quite so much the charm. but the 24th time will be! :) oh! and! I'm 1/8th of the way done haha awesome.

It's a constant slay classy world

One thing that I learned right off is that even in the MG world, there's this perspective of the "perfect" MG! I don't know how humans manage to do it... but it just happens! But like every MG will tell you, we all are different in our waiting ways :) So although I'd like to be the perfect MG that writes my missionary perfect, uplifting letters every week, waits for him perfectly and yet still has a social life with guys being JUST friends... (never works...), makes the cutest and craftiest things to send him in his adorable packages... and stays home studying and being a good growing girl all the time... it just... ah. It doesn't happen. And it really is something we need to try not to bring ourselves down about! Our missionaries appreciate any letter, no matter how crazy, and any package, cause most of us are, after all, very poor college students... who spends their money on the important things like a Missionary instead of useless food items! So fellow MGs, or self, STAY CLASSY! but stay classy in your own way :) be cute! and go out there!! But don't feel too terribly guilty if you aren't that perfect MG, none of us are haha and really if we were... we'd be spoiling these Missionaries far too much ;)

I'm Awkward and I know it

Okay it's official. I'm an MG. I have my own MG blog, I'm on more than one MG facebook group, I have an MG countdown, a shirt to hold from my missionary, pictures, letters, stamp collections... oh yeah. and a Missionary ;) AH! What an incredible experience this is! There truly is nothing like having your best friend be on a mission. And I may be the only one ever reading this, but it's more of a journal of sorts and advice for me (and whoever happens to come across it) than anything else. But really. It was just yesterday that this guy, details and stories of him will be up here asap, after I told him I was waiting for a Missionary, asked me, "So when you say you're waiting for a Missionary... what does that exactly mean..." haha. good. question. It has a different meaning to each girl! So here on this blog is how I, Katrina Burgoyne, wait for a missionary.
~Post Script: My title is the best. And I think I stole it from another MG, hehe ^_^ she'll never know. BUT. Not only is it incredible in the sense that yes after all this time and hardship, I will always be here for my Missionary... but it's a Harry Potter quote. and... Harry Potter is my life. So it makes it both cute and freakin awesome. that's all :)
~2nd Post Script: I'd just like to make a shout out to my bestie Brianna Stott who is the one who got me to do this blog :) really she's wonders!
